Pros & cons
✓ What testers liked
  • +
Performance (56.9%): Exceptional forward propulsion driven by full-length carbon EnergyRods and aggressive toe-off rocker geometry, heavily praised for marathon racing and setting personal bests.
  • +
Plush Comfort & Lightstrike Cushioning (51.0%): Thick stack of Lightstrike Pro foam absorbing heavy road impact and preserving leg comfort over high-mileage runs.
  • +
Bounce, Energy Return & EnergyRods (28.2%): Highly energetic bounce and lively underfoot spring with every stride.
  • +
Breathable (26.9%): Ultra-lightweight, airy mesh upper that keeps feet cool during warm racing conditions.
  • +
Lightweight Construction (19.1%): Minimalist weight relative to its high foam stack, assisting turnover on long efforts.
  • +
Aesthetics (18.5%): Striking, race-ready silhouette and vibrant color choices.
  • +
Platform Stability & Support (16.2%): Surprisingly stable base for a high-stack race shoe, providing good cornering confidence.
  • +
Joint Relief & Fatigue Reduction (9.6%): Effective shock absorption that minimizes post-run leg soreness, knee strain, and muscular fatigue.
✕ Where it falls short
  • –
Durability (25.1%): High rates of outsole rubber peeling, Continental tread rubbing down quickly, or foam scuffing within early mileage.
  • –
Heel Friction, Eyelet Digging & Lacing Issues (20.5%): Infamous lower eyelet lace-pressure digging into top of toes, short laces, and heel slippage requiring a runner's knot.
  • –
Fit (11.6%): Runs Small / Narrow. Tight toe box or narrow midfoot requiring some runners to size up by half a size.
  • –
Value (8.0%): Premium retail price ($250+) making short shoe lifespan hard to justify.
  • –
Narrow Midfoot / Ankle Instability (5.0%): Narrow midfoot cut creating slight wobble on sharp turns or uneven surfaces.
  • –
Noise (0.9%): Minor slapping or squeaking sound on smooth road surfaces.

Wore the decathlon Kiprun carbon shoe for 2 weeks. Ended up in a lot of pain. Then shopped around for an alternative. The puma deviant 2 was comfy. But the Adidas Pro 3 is by far the best.
